Taking Exception: Reviewing Options for MIPS Category Re-Weighting

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recognizes there may be circumstances outside of your control that make it difficult to meet MIPS program requirements. In an effort to reduce burden, they provide the opportunity to apply for exceptions to re-weight one or more MIPS categories to 0% of your final score. In other circumstances, exceptions are applied automatically.
